Studies description

The technical Degree in Advertising Graphics prepares the student for the creation of graphic and visual messages that can be used to release both information and products in the world of advertising. Companies and institutions require the help of such professionals in order to transmit different concepts to target social groups in an effective way. Therefore, the graphic designer needs to cope with visual concepts in both a conceptual and a graphic way. During the course the student will eventually acquire knowledge on printed advertising (leaflet and brochure design, newspapers, magazines, posters, corporative image, signing, etc) and digital design (TV commercials, web pages, interactive design, etc.).

The school counts on a team of specialists in the field of advertising graphics, graphic design, ICT, Art, info graphics, video, picturing, visual communication, etc. They cover the students' learning needs by contributing with their wide knowledge in communication matters, human behaviour and technology. At the same time, they encourage the development of the potential creative skills of each student.

Length of the program of study

Technical Degrees last for two academic years, apart from the time required for the fulfilment of a final project. The certificate that students obtain at the end of these studies allows them direct access to University.

Final Degree Project

The final degree project includes every topic related to graphic design. The minimum contents of the project are: corporative design, application rules, packaging design, publicity (direct, selling point, exterior and press), sign language, technical memory (digital support), conceptual memory (visual identification and analysis of the competence) and project presentation (scale and digital models).

Vocational Training

Vocational Training is also a necessary requirement to obtain the certificate (120h). The process of vocational training, studios or workshops may consist of:

  • Vocational practice in both private and public companies.
  • Fulfilment of academically addressed work which can be integrated in the curriculum of the cycle. This may be carried out in the school.
  • Fulfilment of activities carried out inside exchange programmes, both national and international.
The tutoring of training students in companies will be supervised by the tutor of the Technical Degree through direct contact with company managers and the students themselves. Training in companies enables the student to become familiar with the labour sphere (insertion objective) at the same time that it helps them to complete their learning of their favourite vocational field (qualification objective).

Career Possibilities

The students may choose among different professional fields: advertising agencies, graphic design studios, publishing houses, newspapers or magazines. They may also run their own studio or their own graphic design and visual communication company.
